3.11.2013, Planned Ninjutsu session - AKBAN Jerusalem

Preserving traditional syllabus, in my dojo and at the AKBAN documentation project, our wiki, is a huge challenge in the maze that is the Takamatsu-den.

For me, the difficulties are somewhat more intricate because everything I practice goes through a pragmatic randori filter.

Trying to teach correct timing, distancing, and execution of a traditional technique has always baffled me. I think that a Tsuki punch is a great technique (using the fourth timing of course), I just don't think it is a good method for Tori to practice a technique against. Using a Tsuki, Uke has difficulty preserving efficiency and distance.

I think the particulars of last week's method, especially applying the Tsukitaoshi (突き倒し), have been bridging the gap and will allow us to speedily acquire complex timing skills against a charging opponent.

So, this Sunday we will expand on the Tsukitaoshi we used last week and apply it with other attacks.

The sessions start with Ninjutsu kamae, followed by the himum. The session ends with Randori.
