Yagyū Shingan-ryū

Yagyū Shingan-ryū, 柳生心眼流, is a Japanese Koryu that originated in the Sangoku period with a system that was called Shindo Ryu. The founder of the different interpretations that rose from the original syllabus is Ushū (Shindo) Tatewaki, 羽州帯刀.

The school was originally called Shingan-ryū, and later renamed Yagyū Shingan-ryū, after Yagyu Tajima No Kami Munenori's Yagyū Shinkage-ryū.

Yagyū Shingan-ryū is a complete battlefield art and includes many weapons and crafts that were prevalent at the times of its inception. Yagyu Shingan ryu includes jujutsu, Bōjutsu, Naginatajutsu, Iaijutsu and Kenjutsu.

The Yagyu Shingan ryu has two distinct branches the Sendai line, founded by Takenaga Hayato and the Edo line founded by Araki Mataemon.
