Jugan no kata, Chuden Gata level, Kukishin Ryu

Jugan (重岩), (Heavy rock), (Jūgan), (ג'וגאן) , is a Kata.

This form is part of the Kukishin ryu Dakentaijutsu (九鬼神流打拳体術) koryu, belonging to the Chuden gata level.

Jugan is a part of the syllabus of the Takamatsu den schools of Ninjutsu: Bujinkan, Jinenkan, AKBAN.

Description of Jugan

Both in Shizen tai stance. Uke grabs Tori's lapel with his right hand. Uke attacks with a tsuki (or in some versions, in a push kick and then a tsuki).

Tori reacts Jodan Yuke with the 2nd Timing and using a low level of violence, applies take ori and takes uke down, In some version, after blocking the tsuki and applying the take ori, tori changes hands and finishes the technique in muso dori.
