Video of Nanatsu no tachi
Nanatsu no tachi (ננטסו נו טאצ'י, קאטת בוקן שניה) is a sword kata for two training partners from the Tenshin Shōden Katori Shintō-ryū. This kata, even if intended for sharp Japanese katana, is always practiced with wooden swords, bokken, that has approximately same weight and balance. In Tenshin Shōden Katori Shintō-ryū a tsuba or a hand guard is not used on the wooden practice swords.
Description of Nanatsu no tachi
Nanatsu no tachi is a sword kata that is based on armored confrontation. The cuts in this kata are aimed at the weak points of the Japanese armor and have only some use in regular swordfight.
Most of the Tai sabaki in Nanatsu no tachi is adapted to irregular terrain emphasizing the special stepping method of TSKSR and Ninjutsu.
